We use Interspiro FFM's and OTC's 'Buddy Phone' wireless communications
system. It works *great*. The Swedish Fire Dept. and the Swedish Navy has
tested it and found it great. Range under water is 50m under really bad
conditions and well over 100m under favorable conditions. The surface unit
(VOX or manual mode) ranges up to 1000m u/w. Each diver carries a diver
unit and the crew on the surface uses the surface unit.

We use it for wreck diving, cave diving (not much use of the surface unit)
and when working. We recover sunken timber. The timber was transported and
stored in lakes by the sawmills. The visibility is nil. You find the logs
when they hit you right on the nose. They are stacked on each other so you
really need the comm system to maintain safety.
