But at least an oxygen rebreather plus a medication to prevent oxygen poisoning, would be a LOT easier with a much lighter and more streamlined breathing set down to say 150 to 200 feet. No diluent to carry about. No need for an onboard computer and ppO2 meters to have to #@$% about with gas ratios. If the set's diluent is hydrogen, as used occasionally, a work diver could run himself and his blowtorch off the same cylinders!
