Tom, I see two fake messages on here that appear
to be from me. While I agree with the fact that the
gear you mention is less than optimal, I already put
out a complete post on why I do not like "technical"
dive jackets. You in fact reinforced my thinking when you
put out a long list of modifications necessary.

But now that someone had opened a new can of worms,
which I had completely overlooked, what do you say to
the complaint that you are trafficing in this silliness,
and that is why you continue to defend it long after the
jury has declared a verdict?. Square is not right for
pressure vessels, and jackets are not the preferred gear
for serious diving.

Tom, I am no fool - you know that I always go for
the best. When I see better, like I just did with the
Sea Elite manifold, I discarded ALL of my manifolds,
some $1200 worth, and replaced them with the Sea Elite
300 bar. I did not even try to sell them to someone else.
I built a $5000 scooter, and then decided that Bill Gavin's
design was superior to my own, and cheaper to build, so
discarded mine, and retooled for his. I built those nicad
deep modified tekna 100's five years ago, and then sold them
when I discovered that they would not withstand the pressure
no matter what I did to them. I took out the batteries and
returned them to thier normal shallow state , first.

Tom, if I discover today that there is a better way to
do anything, I will have it in my arsenal before the sun
goes down. I would suggest to you , that as leader of the
only training agency that is likely to survive (for technical
diving), that you adopt my policy of doing what is best, rather
than your current policy of painting yourself into a corner,
and then fighting like a cat to defend your mistakes.

I call the jury's attention to our conversation of four
years ago , in which I asked you and Lookwood if you wnted
me to build you guys a scooter while I was making a batch
for Lamar English, Bill Gavin, and myself. You said you
had something better in mind . - George (the real one)
