I use Quatsyl as a cleaner and disenfectant for my rebreather. It comes as a
quarter-size pellet that is readily soluble in water. Makes a couple of
gallons. Wash the hoses and counterlung at the end of the day and rinse
with water. Leaves no aftertaste unlike some others. Hospitals use the
product for cleaning and disenfecting. You buy a bucket of fifty or so
pellets. Rich, go to U of H and speak to a microbiologist about what is
growing in your counterlung during the month, especially in the warm
climate. Snorting pigeon anal exudate would probably be better for
you. One of the first signs of a contaminated counterlung is a lengthy
reacclimation period for using the rebreather after not using it for a
while. One tablet of quatsyl will make enough to do several rebreathers.
Have your buddy use his to make it up and you never have to buy it. Rod
