A friend of mine recently suffered a post-dive injury of the ear
which has been diagnosed variously as a rupture and repair of the
round window of the ear, and as DCI of the innner ear.

Apparently these two injuries present much the same symptomatically,
and two of the physicians suspect DCI over the round ear rupture, based
on the audiograms taken at the time of the injury.  He's trying to
find out as much as he can about these types of injuries, as he has
to evaluate a possible surgical treatment if it really was the round
window rupturing and repairing.

Has anyone on this list had any experience (first or second hand) of either
of these injuries?  I'd appreciate any info/anecdotes you may have - emailed
to me in preference to the whole list.
