For the record: I did not write, nor give permission to aquaCorps to write, publish or discuss, anything that happened in the bahamas while diving with Brett Gilliam or Joe Odom. The comment about "killing myself" in the article he was not complete as far as context goes. At no time did I feel during the dive that I was going to kill myself. My comment to Menduno was that upon reflection of the dive several days later, I realized how I could have gotten myself killed had something seriously gone wrong (in addition to what already had gone wrong). For example, while I was driving my car the other day I left my seatbelt off, had I gotten into a head on collision I could have killed myself-that was the context of my statement. Dean Mullaney, who I have never spoken to or met, wrote the article. He chose to "glorify" the article for aquaCoprs own purposes, leaving an image that some of the heads of the techical community are preaching dangerous practices-which was certainly not the case. What you as a diver do on your own time I feel is your own business so long as you are not teaching an unsafe practice. Joe Odom was on his own, teaching nobody anything-he was just diving, as I was, and doing so without promotion. Don't believe everything you see in print either, it's only one side of an ill gotten story. If anyone would like to discuss this further with me, I did learn a lot that day and would be happy to share my experiencewith you-after all, thats how we learn more about diving. Keep in mind that I will only discuss this privately as to avoid any information getting into the hands of pissants like Goodviz, Two-Pinks, or the latest in idiots Robert Selchow. They don't deserve to benefit from what anyone on this list has to contribute. Safe diving, Raimo.
