Hi, Bar is a unit of presure. One atmosphere is so close to 1bar that we
simplify.
A watch rated at 15 bars will then resist to 15 atmospheres witch is 140
meters(1 atm at surface).
It would be so much simpler if the metric system were used in diving here in
the US, no more odd looking formulas !  Everything being multiplied or
divided by 10!
Ex: dive to 40m on air, 4+1 ATM, thus ppO2 is 5* .21=1.05 ...   
     Less risk of error, safer.    So...
