In general, tolerance to inhaled anesthetics does not occur. In dogs, there is no tolerance after 500 minutes of exposure (1). This is also true in humans, but the exposure time was shorter (2). In mice, several days exposure to nitrous oxide (i.e. laughing gas) led to a small amount of tolerance (10-20% max) (3).
