Dan Volker makes a good point about
tek diving in Pompano Beach. There was a
TDI conference ther, but they would not allow
me on the boats. I think if we had a full-blown
conference here, Shepards Gym would be the
best location, based on the traffic here.
What Dan may not have noticed, but I
now have after several months of peeling
weenies off of my back, is that , with the
exception of the battles that I start, like
the one with Rod, invariably the problem is
with those who are new to this kind of diving,
or new to the list (like Boreher).
The most satisfying aspect of all of
these arguments is that I have yet to be proven
wrong, or has there really even been an opposing
argument presented. The most dissatisfying aspect
is when the opponent admits that when he actually
gets cave or gas trained, etc.
I would simply suggest that you guys get
over my ego, because you are only making it bigger,
and take the cotton out of your ears and put it
in your mouth, so that we all, including me, can
get the information we need out of people like
Lowrie and others that know a lot more about
areas that we need than any of us.
I would also suggest that the wreck divers
ask themselves how someone can go to the depth they
go to, then stay there four or five times as long as
they do , travel large distances and return,
using the same amount of gas without any
convolutions, and figure out that there is something
they can learn here that they are missing - it is
called advanced technique, and is here for all to
share. Otherwise, Volker and I wil reserve the Gym. - George
