Thanks to the weenies, JR Oldroid has the shields up. As follows: Rod, now I know where the "won't let Farb on the boat" comes from. I agree with you on the dive industry hipocrisy. Most of the boats in S. FLorida won't allow me either , they say I am a "bad influence". How do you like that one? I really owe you an appology, since we are on the same wavelength but not knowing it at first. Pyle, however, will still have to be flammed for that aspirin story, or, since I am rooming with him at TEK, I will just have to kick his ass when I get my hands on him. Obviously, we all have done and do deep air dives, especially when we have no choice. I try to avoid it because of the microcirculatory damage, and I definitely avoid long exposures. I have ended up in deep cave air dives in other countries that I thought would be shallow, because they started shallow. I am careful who I tell these things to. Obviously, if I had my choice, I would dive the right gas. When I did have to get deep on air, I made it quick, like your Monitor dives. When I went back, I took gas. Clearly what we do in the caves here can only be done on gas. Like I told Rich, we have to be careful what we say. A lot of people think depth is the objective, and many believe that an ability to tolerate narcosis is a measure of one's ability. When you write about filming the Monitor for National Geographic, I read it as wondering about the logistics and how you chose your shots, etc. The newbies and would be macho "techdivers" will pay no attention to the National Geo part, because they know that is out of the question for them. The part they can do is the deep air, and that is all they will see. Where is Pyle , anyway? - George >> > >
