Carl, If I remember correctly from my work at DUI, the military has conducted extensive diver thermal studies. Out of this came the point that with one measurement, temperatures at various other sites on the body could be predicted rather accurately. Granted, there is individual variation, but sufficient studies have been run to find that the predictions will be pretty accurate. I am on good terms with DUI still and from previous talks with Bob Stinton (VP of Engineering) they were collaborating with the development of the thermal model for the some deco programs.
