Jonathan sez: >If anyone else has any other ideas on what they do to reduce the risks >maybe they will post for all to evaluate. Maybe its time to look into FFM >more seriously for O2 decompression? As more than an option but a strong >reccomendation or requirement? (As far as teaching is concerned.) Before going to the added operational requirements necessary for using an FFM for deco, consider the pros and cons of using EAN80 in place of O2. The PPO2 at 20' is 1.28 and it makes very little difference in total deco time. A lot of people will jump on me for recommending EAN80, but since we're trying to be as safe as possible, I believe EAN80 is a viable alternative for the open ocean, especially for those concerned with high PPO2's. The down side, well its not as easy as transfilling from a bank of O2 bottles and there is probably an increased explosion hazard because you have to put high pressure air on top of O2, although I've not heard of this happening anywhere yet (I'm sure George will tear me a new one for speaking this nickelrocketry-technoweenie-tomfoolery, but I've been a little constipated lately, so this may help!). - Tony
