>> And if someone says "well, I'm >>more >>experienced, 'cause I've been in 100 diving emergencies" I'm gonna stay away >>from that bozo like nuclear waste. > >, but I would have to say that I definately think that after a person >has a few close ones like this they will be much better prepared next >time...if for no other reason than they learn what NOT to do. >Tim Olson I would want to agree with the point that someone who has survived several emergencies might be better able to handle themselves in another one. But you might want to think about the fact that this person keeps getting themselves into these emergencies. I have found that 99% of all "emergencies" are the result of poor or no planning and diver error. Very rarely is an outside influence responsible for someones harm. Recently we had one of the divers who keeps surviving emergencies finally do himself in. I wasn't aware of the other instances but as I talked to mates on other boats I kept hearing similar stories of his survival. I suppose that if you try hard enough, sooner or later you will die.
