I'm curious what is the shortest period of time for Instructor rating in all the agencies. I've heard cave instructors have to prove their worth, but what about mix instructors, and nitrox, etc? I made it through PADI IDC, taught for two years and retired because of all the BS, mainly the agency and the shops trying to push people through like cattle. And of course you know PADI's phone number is 1-800-PAY-PADI. But, I find it hard to believe that the other agencies aren't like this as well, and I include the "tech" agencies (IANTD, TDI, ad nauseum). Now I hope I am wrong, and I will say I have no knowledge in this area. I do know an awful lot of instructors and can say I'm glad there are a few out there who will teach until someone is taught not until they've met the minimum requirements. Mark Welzel /\/\/
