As I understand the basis for the compartment based models, the
compartments do not correspond to any specific tissue oin the body.
Instead, you can think of compartments as piecewise approximation of a
continuous model. Using compartments makes it easier to compute, but
I'm not convinced that it's any easier to discuss than a continuous
model.

location of DCS hits and "violations" of specific compartment gas
tensions. In other words, slow compartments don't necessarily
correspond to poor circulation tissues.

Mathematically, the slow compartments are the most problematic for
decompression. So, if the models are close to mirroring reality
avoiding the profiles that you mentioned is the smart thing to do.

Well, if you believe the exponential uptake of gas models reality, then
you have at least two alternatives for gas elimination: symetrical
offgassing or sub exponential offgassing. I've seen a number of papers
that suggest that a linear offgassing model is more appropriate. This
has some huge implications for decompression profiles.
