>This is exactly the same story I've heard, but when I talked to my surgeon >about it, he smiled and sayed, 'so if the circulation is poor, what effect >will that have on the ongassing rate?' I started thinking about it and could >see his point; all things being equal, both ongassing and offgassing rates >will be effected by poorer circulation. I guess the question then becomes, >is scar tissue a 'new' compartment, or are their other tissues just as slow >or slower? Other questions remain about scar tissue as well. Does this tissue provide more sites for microbubble formation? If so, does this enhanced bubble formation make a large enough difference as to make one more suceptible to DCS, and to what degree? Also, what effect does a change in circulation during the course of a dive have?! -Carl-
