Well said, Rick!
There are people who will flame anything said, here, on rec.scuba, anywhere.
They are blind to the fact that discussion will save lives, information
will save lives, ridicule and argument ad homen will not.
I wondered for a while if possibly the flame throwers on this list were
products of some sort of fourth class system, a plebe system, such as
some military academy somewhere, but I see no indication of any
discipline, so if they are, they were the ones the fourth class system
they embrace so closely weeded out.
Tech diving isn't a plebe system, and new tech divers in 1995 won't
tolerate attacks.
Argument ad homen is a fallacy, facts and references, true antidotes,
honest mistakes, and "what did I do wrong?" will be respected.
I'm willing to discuss tech diving, (which, incidently, I think covers
any dive where my face drops below the surface) with anyone on this list
who can keep a civil tongue in their head.
Flame throwers will simply fade into olbivion in the depths of my
killfile, regardless of their claims to fame, or their level of skill, real
or imagined.
