Dan, I was getting desparate - it was Friday night
and I had only hours to the deadline. The bet was get
kicked off by the time we got to Lucy Ho's Saturday.
Sankey even blew off an hour of deco to get there early,
smelling victory. So I did the only logical thing, I
flamed J.R. . He still kept me on the edge of my seat
until Saturday. After the dive I pulled out my little
computer and plugged in at Barry's house. He lives only
about three miles from Wakulla. I was ready to
try anything, but he had booted me. Luckily, I was able
to print this out, get to Lucy's on time, and make
Sankey pay up. He then tried a new ploy, "double or
nothing they reinstate you " . Not being a neophite
to negotiation, I suggested we instead put a limit
on this particular order of sushi or that the winner
of the next bet make the LOOSER eat the winners
choice of sushi. Sankey thought back to the "uni
pudding" with quail eggs, and decided to settle for
limiting my order. I only wish J.R. had put my
response to the warning in his kick off message -
it would have earned a solid "10" from the toughest
critic, and all he called it was "arrogant" - it
was horrifying. - George
