>if I play by the IANTD rules, and don't need to be oxygen clean below 40% O2, >can I use the same cylinder and regs I use with a nitrox fill to get a boat >fill and continue diving ? Please remember that this guideline applies to cylinders & valves only if you're getting filled with pre-mixed nitrox. If you will be getting fills at a place that does partial pressure mixing (ie, if 100% oxygen will be put directly into the cylinder), the tank, valve, and associated o-rings should be O2-compatible and -clean. Also, once you O2-clean your valve & cylinder, getting fills on a boat (or anywhere else) may present contamination problems unless the fill system is designed to deliver oxygen-compatible air. Under this guideline, your regs are still OK, because they don't come in contact with 100% O2, only with the < 40% nitrox once it's been mixed in your cylinder. --tab -- Tracey Baker tab@pa*.co* "I don't think safety is the main issue here... You'd be stupid not to be safe."
