When any student is taught the first principles of diving the best any instructor can do is too pass along his/her agencies guidlines and his/her experience. After that it is up to that individual to follow those instructions. If he/she doesn't, then hopefully he/she will continue to learn from their mistakes just as the instructors already have. That is what training is all about. Passing on one's experience. If they don't, then maybe a descent without ascent is heading their way. Although an instructor myself, I always remember that I have 2 ears and only 1 mouth. Dive safe. Mark
