In reading the IANTD list of courses, and the cross traffic, I now have an answer to a question I had. Here is the story. There was a diver who I was considering adding to our list of approved divers. He called me to ask what we were doing for a dive plan a couple of weeks ago. I told him, and he then asked what mix we were diving. I thought this was strange, since I passed out our standards on mixing to everyone involved . He then questioned my response, saying he thought we dove such and such an AED. I just figured the guy was a hopeless moron, and removed him from the list. Now I see what he was suggesting to me - the IANTD standard, which is unacceptable for what we do, and will not be tolerated by me for one second. I do not have time to train people, let alone RETRAIN them properly. Why is it that the guys who do this the longest and the most successfully do it one way, and IANTD teaches something completely different. WAKE UP! - George
