A lot of you will know me from rec.scuba. I am currently certified as a Naui OW1 diver and will be doing an OW2 course next month. I am planning on becoming an instructor and obtaining at least a six-pack license and later probably a 50 ton license with the long term goal of running a sail-dive charter business. My interests are in deep diving, scientific diving (I am very interested in nudibranchs and spend many a dive in a 50 sq ft area), and re-breathers. I have been certified since 1976 but quit diving in 1981 after a friend died in a diving accident. (Not because of the accident, I've been a climber for almost twenty years and have lost several friends along the way, but because my ex-wife sold my gear behind my back. If you really want an earful ask me about ex-wives!) My now-wife developed an interest in diving last year and I'm back in. We do 4 to 8 dives every month. I'd do more but travel a lot on business. I'll not be much of a contributer here but am very interested in the discussion. So far not much has been said that hasn't been discussed in rec.scuba. My personal thoughts are that rec.scuba probably covers all if not more than has been broached in techdiver to date. I also think that any one reading rec.scuba quickly sees that 50% of the subjects are beyond the scope of recreational diving. 'nuff said.
