I think you have probably misread the manual (easy to do since it is
not intuative
- I know cos I did. What it is saying is that if you ascend ABOVE the
decompression
ceiling for more than 5 minutes it will enter gauge mode. Pretty reasonable
since going
shallower than a mandatory ceiling for 5 minutes is not a good thing to do.
