I have been off Techdiver a while because of pressure of other email. What has been happening while I was away? How long has the current bout of flaming etc being going on? What is the stage of finding a medication to stop oxygen poisoning at depth? It seems to me that for many diving uses the many complications of narcosis versus bends risk versus etc might be avoided, <and> divers could use much lighter and simpler breathing sets, if they could could use plain oxygen rebreathers plus a medication that would reliably prevent depth oxygen poisoning up to say 5 or 6 or 7 bars ppO2. ...................... Some time in the future?:- "This is Scooby-Doo going down." (CB-radio-ese for `stopping transmitting') a scuba diver said into his car's CB radio nearish to but supposedly a safe distance from an inshore shellfish fishing village which alleged that sport scuba divers take shellfish. "This is Scooby-Doo going down." he thought as he walked down a steep cliff path to the sea out of sight of local people. "This is Scooby-Doo going down." he thought as he swam down to the seabed to take whatever shellfish he wanted. "This is Scooby-Doo going down." the fishing village's onboard-destructor- equipped submersible dredger recorded in its log as underwater out of sight it stopped him with a powerful ultrasound beam and pumped him into its dredgings tank like all the other rubbish that got into the sea in its area.
