I've heard a rumour that the company which makes the Aladin Air X is in patent difficulties over the use of the coded pressure transmitter system they are using. The story I've heard is that an Australian company which produces a hoseless air pressure gauge using a similar transmitter is claiming ownership of a patent covering such devices. I have been told that sale of the Air X is now on hold pending coming to some licence agreement. Apparently the other major player using a transmitter system in their new gauge/computer (Sherwood?) already has a licence from the Australians. I've not been able to confirm this, and certainly haven't seen it written down anywhere. Does anyone on this list, perhaps who went to Tek 94 or DEMA, know one way or another if this is true?
