Another trick to keeping warm with dry gloves is to use string, foam, tubing
or whatever to break the seal which allows the argon to flow. It is really
nice to drop a hand down to squeeze out the cold argon and lift it up for
the "warmer" argon to flow in.

But the best part of the trick is to use something grippable inside the glove
and pull back into the glove should you have a leak in the glove or even
the suit I guess. This is usually done with something short that sticks into
the glove usually up to the finger. If there is a flood, then
let the glove inflate above your body, wiggle your fingers out of the glove
fingers and grasp the straw/string or whatever and work it out of the suit
seal into the glove. Work your fingers back into the glove and either burp it
or wait till the gas leaks out of it. At least your arm is mostly spared this
way. Before I did this, if I ever had a seal problem, my entire arm would
fill up with water which, at the start of a long deco dive, is a hassle in
the cold Great Lakes water.

What makes the Polatec underwear so good? What fiber or design makes it
better than DUI Thinsulate/Polypro/Capl. etc?
