I'd like to find out about the effects of Argon use for dry suit inflation. Also, I'd like to hear from people about their use of and or feelings about Argon. I was doing some technical deep air training with my local technical dive instructors this weekend, and for these dives, we were using Argon for suit inflation. The divers I dive with are certified Tri-Mix divers, and routinely do their mix dives in the colder waters of the Puget Sound (40 degrees). Recently, they introduced Argon to their store, and we pretty much were testing it out this weekend on our deep air dives. All I can say is that I am very much impressed at the thermal properties of Argon. I can't even describe to you people, who have never used Argon, on how much warmer one is while using it. It is really that much warmer. It is very noticeable (even on the surface) and I was very impressed at it's warmth. I also asked several people yesterday on what the likelyhood of getting the skin bends were from Argon. Nobody knew anything for sure. Matter of fact, the general concensus was that DAN was looking for this kind of information because they do not know either. Would anyone like to share some insite on to what may or may not be happening when divers use Argon for their suite inflation? Anyone have any facts/statistics/ and/or stories? Thanks! Michael Parker
