Some folks have complained to me privately about distributing a 'chain 
letter' petition on this list. Personaly I dont care if I did upset some 
of them but I will defend my reasons for sending it. 
I have found that most divers I know have a reasonable level of 
environmental conscience and therefor assumed that people might appreciate 
the chance to get involved in what I believe is a just cause. I know that 
it will probably have almost no effect on the decision of the French 
Government but that is still no reason to remain silent. If I broke some 
unwritten law of etiquette inteternet well big deal, if you do not agree 
with the petition then don't sign it.
