Ronnie; I was certified in 1962 by an organization known as ISA (International Skin-dives(?) or maybe Scuba-divers Association, I don't remember which) I remember receiving a letter from them informing me of their demise sometime in the 65 or 66 time frame. I used this letter to obtain, with some retraining, a certification from NAUI in the 70's. I was re-certified by NAUI as a Scuba Diver which at the time was their entry level certification. I have over the years taken additional courses and now hold a NAUI Master Diver certification. I don't know where my original certification papers are, several moves and a divorce have resulted in the loss of them. As I am sure you remember in the early 60's we used tanks, double hose regulators and not much more. Things have certainly improved and I hope this trend will continue. You know I don't remember if I even had a snorkel. The Guy I bought air from in Savannah attached your tank directly to his compressor, turned it on and let her run until your tank was full! He did this in his garage, at least he didn't have the car running! I don't remember any sort of a filter on his compressor either. By the way if anyone else out their remembers what exactly happened to ISA I'd like to hear from you. It seems that they may have been absorbed by another group. I took a scuba course in 1964 and there wan't any card or such, but then it was a university course. r.b.
