Okay, I can try to locate more details, but the sub in question was the "SURCOUF" (named after one of the greatest French naval mercenaries), who was at the time of it's launch (perhaps when it was sunk, too) indeed the largest sub in the world. It had a crew of over 100 men, including the pilot of the tiny amphibious reconnaissance airplane it carried in a huge watertight hangar behind the conning tower. ---============================================================--- Life is 80% showing up. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Woody allen ** Marc Dufour - [\] ACUC 6 31874 - http://WWW.CAM.ORG/~mdufour **
