Subject: A blast from the past

     I recently came upon a 1970's era FARALLON SHARK DART. What a device! 
     It's basically a big hypodermic syringe attached to a CO2 cartridge. 
     Presumably, you stab the attacking shark (yeah, right) and the shark 
     inflates and blows up.
     
     Does any one have any experience with this thing?  I'd be interested 
     in hearing more about it; historical anecdotes regarding old dive gear 
     fascinate me.  And before you get out the flame torch, let me assure 
     you that I don't plan on going out and stabbing a great white this 
     afternoon.
     
     Then again, who'd dare to flame a guy with a vintage shark dart?
