I am too quite impressed with the contents of the list; I don't sift
though reams of "Cozumel" and "My ears hurt" postings everyday anymore.
Well, perhaps TECHDIVER could take a clue from other mailing lists. I
recently subscribed to a railroad signalling list (yup, seeing something on
rails turns me on as much as the prospect of going down to visit a nice
wreck), and before I was allowed to even have a glimpse at the list's
content, I was thoroughly grilled on my railroad knowledge ("Well, the key
thing is that it is not tutorial, i.e. people on the list already know
something about signalling."), and only after thoroughly satisfying the list
administrator (NOT moderator) that I knew not only something about railroads
in general, but also the nitty-gritty details of day-to-day train
operations, I was "granted" the honour of being admitted onto the mailing
list itself...
