       Someone who is on these lists thought it would
be very clever to tell Tom that I was badmouthing him
in these hallowed circuits. While this is not true, 
perhaps some of you inferred that my differences with
"deep air" and "record setting" somehow implied an
indictment of Tom - nothing  could be further from 
the truth. The reason Tom is still around after all
of these years of diving is that he does not participate
in any of the stupidity that his instructors and would
be followers are practicing and propagating. In addition,
IANTD is only one of the many organizations associating
themselves with so called "technical" diving, and again,
it's the would be "experts" that these organizations
have spawned that are the problem, not the originators
themselves. Besides, the blatent "deep air" strokes are
not part of Tom's program anyway. While I may do things 
differenly than Tom (in cave diving), it is hard to
argue with his survival, so I don't, and I realize that
some of his methods are dictated by the fact that he 
is usually working with (instructing)some pretty pathetic
material and has to compensate just to keep himself alive.
Whoever got this started will get the full benefit of
of my kind attentions. - George Irvine
