I suspect this may be more of a problem with rec.scuba rather than techdiver. I have often felt that rec.scuba gets well beyond the remit of recreational diving (not that I'm complaining). I understand what Nick is saying but I can see a point to this list if it presents a different kind of discussion. For example, as a newsletter forum for reports of actual dives and exploration. This kind of stuff is missing from rec.scuba. I would certainly be interested to hear accounts of cave explorations or wreck penetrations. First hand reports of problems people have had and the swapping of techniques.
