Maybe the original post was facetious (sp?), but whatthell, I'll wade into this one anyway... ..."IQ", when assigned to a human and used as as measure of potential, has more holes in it than a K-Mart dry suit (and yes, I strained for that metaphor--it's early in the day). You can take a lot of scores and generate a nimber, but no one knows what the number means. Probably, not much. "Intelligence" is far too slippery and multifarious a phenomenon to reduce to a numerical value. Case in point: I've been subjected to four IQ tests that I know of (I had to sneak a peak at two of the results); the results had a range of 25 points from low to high. Supporters of IQ will tell you that 25 points is a significant difference-who took these tests, my multiple personalities? So, what does the test actually mean? Probably, nothing much.
