The primary diving physician on staff at the City Island Hyperbaric Chamber in New York City and the Medical Editor of the Sub Aqua Journal magazine has had his medical license revoked May 16, 1995 by the Administrative Review Board for Professional Medical Conduct of the New York Health Department, according to an article published May 20 in the Staten Island Advance newspaper. The Review Board consists of five medical doctors. Dr. Stephen J. Lombardo was found guilty of "moral unfitness and practicing fraudulently...willfully harassing, abusing, or intimidating patients(names withheld)", according to state records obtained by the Advance. In one case, he was accused of performing various sexual acts with a 14-year old girl. This is the SECOND medical doctor associated with the Sub Aqua Journal to have had his medical license revoked, the first being Jeffrey H. Rudell. Great judge of character, Joel.
