I currently own a Seaquest Spectrum III. It's well made, single
bladder, comfortable and easily maintained. List price is $425. It
can not be easily adapted for doubles, however that may not be a
concern for you.
Seaquest also makes a back mount version, and although I've never used
one, I've heard good reports about their performance.
I really don't like BC's with an internal bladder, because they are
difficult to wash out and maintain. With the single bladder, you can
remove the inflator hose, dump valve (and wash-out plug on the
Seaquest), hose it down, and store it open. Double bladder BC's
always seem to get mildewy, and eventually salt crystals will form, no
matter how hard you try to keep the inside of the bladder clean.
Just yesterday I received my new Dive Rite Transpac. At first glance
it is VERY rugged and well designed. It came with a 47 page manual
and took a LONG time to assemble. It's really a "system", to use a
clich! I will write a complete review of the product as soon as I
have a chance to use a few times.

Does anyone have any recommendations for bouyancy compensators for use with a
single tank and pony bottle. I'm presently using a horse collar and want to
upgrade to something that will help to eliminate back strain. Please respond to
my address - samekmf@nu*.co* - THANKS.
