Subject: EAN at what age

What is the recommended age for diving EAN.  I just talked to a gentlemen
from Caymans and he told me that he will only let his 12yr old dive on EAN.
 His thoughts were that he makes his mix to what  the equivalent PO at depth
is to air on the surface.  

He feels that with the developing bones It is much safer for children.
