Hi Rich,

I use two types of bag for the upline.

The primary is a sealed 4ft long tube-shaped lift bag giving a lift capacity
of 25Kg/55lbs with an overpressure dump and a small air tank (as used in some
stab jackets) attached. It is made by ADP in England.

To use it, clip the upline to the bag, crack open the air tank a bit and
let go (of the bag), the bag will continue to fill on the ascent from
expansion and from the air tank

My backup is a similar shaped bag with the bottom end "semi-closed" to stop
air escaping. To explain semi-closed, I will have to start with some ascii
graphics.

  | | This shows the bottom of the bag (the top is sealed).
  | | At the very bottom of the diagram is a strap attached to the
  | | side walls of the bag for connecting the up line.

  |/ \| The clever bit is the inverted funnel bit adjacent to this line.
  | | It is made of the same material as the bag and the top part is
  |_ _| only about 2 inches wide. This tends to seal the bag.

I hope you are keeping well.
