Refering to the discussion on just what is a tech diving...

That's a hard decision to justify, IMO. After all, we are using
'technology to enhance the diving experience' whenever we strap on a tank.
Failing that, the use of a dive computer might be seen as dive become a
technical dive (although I understand that there are some d/c's designed
for use with mixed gas diving).

'Beyond the scope of rec diving' seems a fair bit closer.
Supposing that a given was part of a dive (ie. sediment sampling). Would
that be a scientific dive (collection of samples) or would it be a
technical dive (using skills not normally practiced by the rec diver -
management of extra equipment, use of same, retrieval of same). Or both?
I guess it isn't hard to tell where my interests lie 8-)
