Hi All:

The idea of making a catalogue of technical sites generated a good deal of
interest, some thirty messages to be exact. Since there is so much interest,
I'm going ahead with the project which will take two forms. One will be
a printed copy of the catalogue and the other will be either a file
repository or perhaps a searchable database of information which I'll
get online somehow and somewhere. I know I can deposite the files
on at least one gopher searchable site and a database is also possible
which should be mail searchable or perhaps telenet in (how about it jr)?

The file or database will be more current than the printed material
however, the printed version is going to be illustrated! I fully
expect that if I get the cooperation I'm hoping for, that the printed
book(s) will be by regions or country. That however will be a matter for
the publisher to decide. I'm also going to try and compile a list
of tech-resources for the printed version.

Below is a form which I am proposing for the submission of data for
the Technical Dive Site catalogue. Before anyone uses it, please review
it and let me know of any suggestions you may have to improve it. We
are going to have to use a standardized form, which by it's nature is going
to leave some information out. That is why each section has an area for
commentary. Once the form is finalized, I'll place it on the net.

Also an area I feel some will question is the proposed difficulty
rateing for the caves. This is purely subjective, but I think it is
still highly useful and until someone brighter than I designs a really
concise and technical rateing system, this will do...unless someone
already has?

I feel that the information requested is the minimum and these are the
basic questions that anyone would want to know.

Please review the form and feel free to comment on it.
