What I was suggesting was adjusting the tables as you would for any altitude dive. For example, people have said that the air pressure inside a plane generally stays greater than the pressure at 8000 feet. So it seems that you could just adjust the tables for a dive at 8000 feet (algorithm taught in altitude diving specialty courses) and be safe even without a surface interval before the flight. Granted that adjustments for a dive at 8000 feet give you very little dive time, but I'm talking more about theory than practice. Considering what is being done with computers these days (Anyone seen The Bridge yet? I dove with one this weekend. An amazing little machine.) it seems reasonable to me that some day you may be able to tell your computer that you plan, for example, to fly in 6 hours. Then just let the computer adjust your dive time to make it safe. Devon
