My experiences with a Harvey's neoprene drysuit (Aquacapsule I) were that it was fine for the first 50 or so dives, but after that the seams began leaking in numerous places (the crotch being the most appreciated! Brrr!), and resisted attempts to repair them, including repairs I made, and sending it back to Harvey's. (By the way, in my experience, their customer service was very poor.) This experience has happened to everyone I know who's put more than about 50 dives on one (three others). I've heard the main problem is that as the neoprene compresses at depth, the glue on the seams doesn't compress, and it pulls the seams apart. Anyway, I'd recommend the suit for its intended customer, that being people who dive shallow less than 10 times a year. I would _not_ recommend it for serious diving, unless you just consider it a easy-don wetsuit. They do make an Aquacapsule II with seam-tape, and it may last much longer. -Eric ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Eric Lundquist, Systems Manager School of Oceanography, Box 357940 ericl@oc*.wa*.ed* University of Washington (206) 543-0594 102 ORB Seattle, WA, USA 98195-7940 http://www.ocean.washington.edu/people/staff/ericl/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out my Puget Sound area scuba diving WWW page! http://diver.ocean.washington.edu
