I took a look at that when I first started diving doubles.  My answer is to
go surface supplied when I get to the point that double 80s plus an 80 stage
won't hack it.

With the 80s, I'm looking at about ten pounds of buoyancy shift from the gas
plus about ten pounds of shift from the wetsuit for a total of twenty or so.
That's about all I want to deal with with a wetsuit.

There is also the surface weight issue with big aluminum doubles.  The
amount of weight required would make for a heck of a load on a boat deck.
Personally, my back isn't up to it.

Your candyass factor may be quite a bit different from mine.
