Subject: definition of neophyte continued

Good morning JT-
First, please let me apologize to you. Several people have pointed out that
it is not fair that I use Latin phrases in my posts to you, since you have a
hard enough time with English. My apologies. While these individuals
requested that I keep my posts as simple as possible for you, I think it
would be inappropriate and inexcusable of me to allow you to continue to
wallow in nescience. There is a whole world out there past the fourth grade
for you to experience JT -- carpe diem (seize the day)!

In any case, as you know I went ahead and tallied your list of technical
dives past 150fsw, since you would not do it yourself. Don't worry, based
on your difficulty with the English language, one can only assume you have
the same issues with basic mathematics. As a refresher:

"Looks like you have 43 dives past 150fsw from 1998 - 2003 (six-year average
of seven dives; five year average of eight dives), according to your own
website. Impressive! In the event I am wrong, and you do not have all your
dives posted on your website (even though you said you did), let's go ahead
and put a 100% error factor in that running total. So, that would give you
86 dives past 150fsw over five years. Now I see where you have developed
this arrogant attitude of yours. Well earned indeed!"

I offered to do the same with my diving resume, which I now offer as a
comparison; I remind you, however, that I consider myself a neophyte.
Unfortunately, I only had my monthly logs from January 2000, and for some
reason I am missing my log from August 2000, so this may not be a very even
comparison. If you want, I can backtrack and list the actual wrecks
(specific sites are not included in my logs), but that may take a bit
longer. But I think we can work past that...

2000 (36)
2001 (50)
2002 (25)
2003 (8)

Total 2000 - 2003 = 119. In contrast, you have completed 43 dives over six
years. However, since you claim that I am a liar (i.e., lair), let's go
ahead and adjust my total with a 50% error factor. That would result in a
total of 60 dives over those four years. So, if you happened to omit a
large percentage of your technical dives (though you have stated that they
are all represented on your website) and we double your dives, and I am a
liar (i.e., lair) and halved my dives, then, yes, you would have more
technical dives completed. But then again, I am just a neophyte.

We all stand in shock and awe of your accomplishments JT.

Best wishes,
Mike
