Although I agree with your sentiments, (I, too, received the 'invitation' to
forward the press release, and I don't live anywhere near those areas - and
even if I did I wouldn't forward it to anybody that I cared about!) it's my
view that machines are never dangerous - until you ignore their capacity for
harm!  :-)

In that regard - it seems to me - training is always the key.  Added to
which is the prime need for using a particular machine!  (It's always seemed
to me that very, very few people have a real need to use rebreathers.  And
of those who do - well!  There are other models that really do have a better
and proven track record!)  :-)

Rather than condemn the machine - which is no match for half a million years
of human evolution and the ability to think - condemn the lack of an
adequate training programme.  (Mind you!  That'd take too much money and
time to make it viable!) :-))))
