Well Richard or is it Tadpole......... every time you guys ask a question, some who disapprove of the answer that is given often give advise that is totally wrong, yet they have never done the dives or are often caught leaving details out of their dives that show that diving is not perfect, their ego or being in the business will not let them tell the truth. I recall one who used to post all these perfect dives all the time and yet I had seen him dive and perfect is not how all dives go. He had an argument with one in his group and they exposed each other, this was followed by an accident that I had predicted. Thus the dives were not perfect. During the VBtech all day meeting several of the guys came over to my house and we discussed some of the huge dives we have planned for this year. Then our discussion turned to what ever happened to this guy or that guy. We found that each one only had but one problem or close call during their diving. They had been diving under the delusion that all dives were or could be made perfect, good skills, training ect.... was enough. It is not, no matter how good you are or how well you have been trained, it does not matter what you have done in the past, you cannot predict how you will handle each and every problem that you may be confronted with on a dive. Here is the plain truth, most will not survive any problem on the extreme dives, those who have encountered many problems on easy , shallow normal dives, stand a much better chance of handling the life ending problem on an extreme dive. The metal stress that a problem at deep depths can produce is overwhelming. Those that have their first one on a challenging dive and survive often move on to something else, their egos make them say they have to work or some other bullshit when asked to go diving. Never the real truth. Something like the diver who had done a 350ft dive in a cave and woke in the middle of the night to find his arm numb and unable to move it, told himself he would never do those dives again.....soon he found he had only slept on the arm and he was not hurt at all. But announced the deep crazy shit was over for him.......anybody heard from him lately? That was an honest answer he gave. You are new to this list, it has always been shit. Things are said on this list that is said on no other list. I do hear it is happening on quest a lot now. I was guilty of bad behavior on this list myself and now I just chose to be a wise ass on here. Because in words of MC Hammer........"can't touch this".
