Dunn you are correct. He has said this stuff on the lists but also at FREE lectures! George has flown around the country giving free lectures, mostly at his own expense to help others understand his message in addition to speeding countless hours on the keyboard trying to hammer home the point... When George was in California as well as Hawaii, ( I can only assume that he does the same elsewhere) he talked about how he, with the help of others(unfortunate for some of them) created DIR. Most know that George has dove or been dive partners with many other great icons of technical diving. In the lecture he talks of his earlier diving experiences. He makes it perfectly clear that he learned from the school of hard knocks and doesn't hide the fact that he once did things that he would never do again. He is attempting to keep others from doing wrong.
