I feel it's unfortunate that some new readers/new technical divers have been
turned off by the list because they feel unwelcome.  

I have been reading the list for about 5 months now (a new reader myself),
and even though I have been diving for almost 20 years, I have only
been technical diving for only about 5 months (a new technical diver myself).

I personally have found the list to be an excellent source for information
exchange.  Even though the majority of the postings I have made are
regarding questions that I have about technical diving (and may seem
obvious to the seasoned tech diver), the responses have *all* been very
positive (as well as very helpful/insightful) without a single touch of
animosity towards me because I am a new reader/tech diver.

For the 5 months that I have been reading the techdiver list, I have felt very
free (welcome) to ask questions without getting burned just because I'm a new
reader/tech diver.

I look forward to many more months on the techdiver list.
