Wendell, the only thing that distinguishes "up here" from the rest of the
world is that "up here" the monkeys are running the zoo. You all appear to
actually believe that what works in Seattle, Los Angeles, England,
Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Germany , France, Italy , Croatia, Thailand,
Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Hawaii, the Philippines, Alaska,
Canada and Florida ,Texas, the Gulf of Mexico, etc, etc will somehow not
work in the NE United States, which is defined as where the worst idiots in
diving with the world's worst track records continue to do the same stupid
things over an over while expecting different results.

Truly an amazing mindset for a locale which is the upper end of the
socioeconomic food chain. In fact, beyond the pale and completely
ridiculous.

One of the bodies that I went fishing for was a guy with an MBA from one of
the big schools who was a derivatives trader at Morgan Stanley and then at
Banker's Trust. He decided that "tech diving" was going to be his thing, so
he went to the monkeys and ended up dead. The whole NE dive mess reminds me
of not only the Star Wars Bar Scene, but of Hemingway's story, "The Short
Happy Life of Francis Macomber", a wannabe a tough guy who went big game
hunting in Africa with some NE wreck diver-type guide, and who at first ran
when charged by a Cape Buffalo, but then at the direction of the wreck
diver stood his ground and shot , only to be run over and killed by the
next Buffalo.

Let me suggest you all either run, or get it right and then go buffalo
hunting, and let the roofers and valet parkers who run and influence diving
up there go stage their SWBS by themselves. Stop making excuses for idiots
under the guise of "discussion". I grew up in New England - I know better,
and obviously so do a lot of other people in this world.

By the way, my partner in my business ( bonds, not dive gear as "capt" JT
suggests ), speaks Chinese. He is Irish, but I hear him speaking Chinese on
the phone now and then when he is checking up on who did what in Asia by
calling traders in Hong Kong. To me, his Chinese sounds perfect. However, if
I wanted to learn Chinese, I don't think I would learn from him, now would
I, since I don't know what good Chinese sounds like?

Sure its simple, but you have to have boat operators
and divers who are practiced in it because up here
things end up in the pooper scooper real fast.
